Soy
Discussion Actions
Hi and thanks for putting together a great site!
I am primarily a vegetarian, eating fish 1x a week. Our family eats a lot of soy based foods, textured protein in the form of fake ground meat (for tacos and in speggetti sauce) and fake chicken patties which my children like.
But now I feel that all that soy, which isn’t always organic, may be doing them more harm then farm raised, organic meat.
I love Michael Pollen’s new book “The 8 Rules” and one is don’t eat anything your great grandmother wouldn’t know what it was! …like TVP.

Hi Tiffany,
Thanks! That is very helpful!
Yes, I took Lonny’s class 3 years ago and still have tx’s with him.
I also have family in Seattle that I will certainly send your way!

Susan very cool! I must have been the class entering just after you. I finshed almost 2 years ago.
I’m really glad to have your presence here. And any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Do you do much work with whole foods with your patients?
Hi Susan. So glad to have you on the EFE community site!
I see you are an acupuncturist as well. Awesome! Do you know Lonny? Jarett?
I am with Pollen on that bit of advice.
As you probably know, the soy isolates are contributing to quite an estrogen overload… We get estrogen precursors from plastics, pesticides, many environmental toxins, an internally via adrenal exhaustion.
There was a profound interview that we did with thoughtleader John Allen Mollenhauer about “Busting The Protein Myth” http://community.eatingforevolution.com/lessons/590
In it he helped us to see that protein is in most every vegetable and we really don’t need to worry about getting enough… unless we are food deprived.
It really opened up things for me. I realized that I didn’t need to worry about getting enough protein. i just needed to focus on getting enough nutrient rich foods.
Thanks for your post.
